Mezzotints

Engraved intaglio prints on copper plates, mezzotinting is an uncommon technique involving rocking a toothed tool across the metal to create an image that prints as black. A scraper and then a burnisher is rubbed on the network of tiny dark marks to create the light tones, not unlike developing an old photograph.

These handmade small editions are individually printed on Fabriano, Hahnemuhle or Somerset paper.
